To The Tunes

Music.
In my mind, in my ears.
It’ll pulse inside and out.
It’s not just the tune, it’s the meaning.
The feeling.
The way it makes you cry or laugh.
The way it can bring you to tears, or open you up.
You sing, you dance.
And it’s all
because
of music.
Music has become a very regulated, very important part of society. It’s what you listen to every day, every moment that begins to shape your mind.
Like your mothers heartbeat, or your sibling’s voice, or the crackling of the fire.
Or electric guitar and drum beats.
I’m a naturally creative person with an ear for a good tune so finding good music comes easily to me. I listen to different genres depending on what I’m doing. Say, my favourite genre to listen to while writing is alternative. My facourite genre to play on the piano is pop. My favourite thing to listen to while doing school is instrumental covers.
But in the world of music we often forget what God said.
In Psalm He tells us multiple times to lift our hands and our heard and sing for His glory. So many times I hear people listening to secular music and it makes me so sad. Music that uses the Lord’s name in vain, music that supports worldly beliefs. So many times what you thought was a Christian song, wasn't. And who you thought was a Christian artist isn’t.
Because people think music is based around entertainment.
What they don't know is that music was ment to have two sides.
One, to bring you closer to a God and to bring glory to the almighty.
And two, to entertain Him, and let yourself be happy in his presence.
Being happy is a very important part of being alive.
And music can forge emotions, it can create feelings and bring up your spirits.
Don’t stop listening to music.
Just make sure that you wouldn’t be ashamed to play the songs you’re playing now in the car, on a road trip, with Jesus in the passenger seat.
Stay Faithful,

That is a nice perspective, Claudia! Music is so powerful. My favorite hymn is, "How Great Thou Art":
'... Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee.
How great Thou art, how great Thou art ...'
Have a blessed Thanksgiving!
