Sin: Worse or Better?

In his novel Mere Christianity, chapter 8, The Great Sin, C. S. Lewis writes, ‘For Pride is spiritual cancer: it eats up the very possibility of love, or contentment, or even common sense.’

However, he goes on to say that every sin is great, not only pride. The Bible tells us all sins are great also. Lying about whether or not you wrote that essay is just as evil as being abrasive to Jesus’ word or using His name in vain.

Proverbs 28:1 ‘The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are as hold as a lion.’

Sining is something everyone does, save Jesus, of course. Jesus was tempted in the desert, just as we are every day. The devil wants to get under our skin, in our kinds. He wants us to stray from God. His plan is to bring people away from God’s love. The devil will tempt you with pride, with greed, wrath, gluttony, lust, envy, and sloth.

Do not give in.

You, Asa human, are not strong, but through God, you can be as bold as a lion.

Do not succumb to the devil’s works. He is a liar, a thief.
