It took me a while to find an idea for this post. In all honesty, I have to tell you I have no idea what I’m going to write about.
Sometimes it’s really hard to find something to write about.
So I’m going to post some poetry.
I’ll do that sometimes, just post random poetry. Poetry I’ll write at night when I can’t go to sleep and I don’t want to read.
I wrote this one on May 22, 2024
Refuge
When he says something special,
When he says you look nice.
When he notices the work you put into your protect,
When he sees the pain you’re feeling.
When he wraps his arms around you,
When he tells you it’s okay.
When he whispers in your ear
When he stays with you day after day.
When he’s just an earthly man,
And struggles hit hard.
When he’s not rooted to the Lord,
And loses his guard.
When he forgets your soul,
And he breaks your heart.
Then you cry,
And you fall apart.
Jesus will listen,
He’ll tell you it’s okay.
Jesus will take you in his arms,
every time you pray.
Jesus will love you,
No matter the cost
And Jesus will cry,
He will weep with you in sadness,
Oh Lord, my God, I pray to you now, for I know I am lost.
I know I, and this world, are breaking apart.
I know that time is sweet and short and goes by fast.
Take me with you, to your paradise on high.
Take my worries and my pains and hold them in your hands.
I know I am seen, and I praise you for that.
God, you are my refuage.
I’d ask you what you think, but at some point you shouldn’t have to read poetry for school and you just read it because you want to.
I want you to read this because you want to. I want you to look at this poem and find the truth settled between these words.
At some point you’ll have read this three times and you’ll go to the end of this post and you’ll realize God will hold you in His hands. He’ll hold your pain and your worries, then he’ll throw them into the dark sea, and He’ll forget about them.
Because even when God knows what you’ve done, He’ll take the broken-hearted, the ones who are sick, the ones who are in denial, and He’ll forgive them.
I want to tell you the story of a woman. A woman who reached out and touched Jesus’ clothes when He was walking past her. She was sick before, and even the power in Jesus’ garmets healed her.
Jesus turned to the crowd, and asked who touched His clothes, and when that faithful woman came and laid herself at His feet, what do you think He did?
After she was greedy and didn’t wait for Him.
Affer she was selfish.
After she envied other people’s health.
Jesus forgave her.
And He’ll forgive you too.
Go to Him for refuge.
And stay faithful
