Living For Jesus

This was kind of hard to share, but I was thinking about this once in a long car drive, and I think it’ll resonate with some readers, and encourage others.
Not too long ago, I asked my mom a question:
“If heaven is where Christians want to go when they die, why do we live through life on Earth at all? Why don’t we all just go to heaven right now and live with God.
My mom didn’t answer right away. She talked to our pastor and she came back with a few questions and let me think about it for a while before coming back a few days later and sitting me on my bed and saying this:
“God created us to worship Him. He made us to be disciples to him. Think, if all the Christians before us, had gone to heaven like you say, do you think you would be here? Would any of us be here?”
We conversed for a little while, and even after we went to bed, I continued to think.
And now I understand.
Without my mom, there wouldn’t be me and my two sisters.
Without my grandma, there wouldn’t be my two uncles and mom. There wouldn’t be her nine grandchildren.
And I’m not going to go back further into my family tree, because I think this gets the point across.
Each one of us, is one more person who loves God, and expresses their love in whatever they do.
So if I go to heaven now, what if I’m the grandma? What if I have three kids, and each of my kids has three kids? That’s twelve Christians who don’t exist if I leave just because this world is hard.
Romans 5:8 ‘But God showed his love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us.’
So walk in the newness of life (Romans 6:4). Walk with Jesus in all you do because that’s countless more people who know God’s truth.
Isaiah 26:2 ‘Open the gates, that the righteous nation that keeps faith may enter in.’
‘But those that were sown on the good soil, are the ones who hear the word and accept it and bear fruit, thirtyfold, sixtyfold, and a hundred fold.’ - Mark 4:20
Sow your life into good soil. Sow your life so that there will be others when you’re gone, others who live for Jesus like you did.
