Inspiration In Life’s Darkest Moments

I know I walk a lot about darkness on this blog, and the title kinda sounds like I’m doing it again.
But I’m not.
Today, I want to remind you just how much God knows, and how far He’s willing to go to bring you out of your darkness, like He’s done so many times for me.
But first, let’s talk a little bit about what I mean when I say ‘darkness.’
When I talk about darkness, I’m not only speaking about the loss of light, I’m talking about the loss of Christ’s light. You see, it’s not when we don't read our Bible’s, or when we miss a part of church service, that we lose our path to Jesus. It’s when we deny that He is the one who can help up and we deny Him the right to rule in our bodies and minds.
Darkness comes when there is no light to scatter the black. Likewise, we become dark in our souls when we don't fall on Jesus, and say instead: ‘I can do this on my own.’
The truth is: You Can’t!
And God knows the same. You need Him, and you know it.
It like (not really) (completely not like) when you have to go to the bathroom really bad but you don’t because you just don’t want to. (it sounds stupid, doesn’t it?) You’re denying your body the right of way. Just like you’re denying God the right of way to your soul.
Don’t do that!!!
You need to be truthful, just like when you have to use the bathroom. You’ll feel so much better when you lean on Jesus and let him scatter that darkness out of your life.
Okay, now that we have that our of the way, it’s time to get you inspired.
Let’s start with a verse:
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
‘1 For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:
2 a time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
3 a time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4 a time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
5 a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
6 a time to seek, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
7 a time to tear, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
8 a time to love, and a time to hate;
a time for war, and a time for peace.’
Do you see that!?!?!?!? God knows exactly what’s going on in your head. He knows the mental battles you’re having, just like the verses say above. God knows how hard it is to make a decision when there are so many to make in this world.
God knows it’s gotta be one or the other. You’re human, you have to hand it to yourself. You’re not gonna be perfect and you certainly are not going to be able to be everything for everyone.
As for finding a way past that darkness, do what God says. Follow his commandments and allow yourself to fall into His arms. I know it’ll look like you’re weak. I know it’ll look like you can’t be there on your own. But always being strong and capable is a thing the world decided is trendy and cool. God never said you have to do it on your own.
God knew man wasn’t going to be strong in his own, so He made him a partner in crime. Don’t tell God He didn’t do good enough by denying people the right to comfort you when you’re angry.
Isaiah 40:31 ‘but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
they shall walk and not faint.’
It’s not what the world thinks, it’s what God thinks that matters.
“But it doesn’t.” you might say.
“If I’m going to make it out there, I’m going to have to beerfect, just like the world wants. I’m not in heaven yet, I have to impress the people down here first.”
Here’s my knowledge:
God will always matter more than the world. Heaven will always last longer than the world. Right now might ‘matter’ more to you, but when will you wish you’d spent your years spreading the gospel instead of trends and working out?
You will never impress the people down here, just like you will never impress God. But here’s the secret. Only one of the two loves you enough to give you a bit of slack and forgive you. You’re right. Only God is going to be good like that to you.
It might feel hard to ‘fit in,’ but that’s not what’s going to matter in the long run. You’re special as you are, and God doesn’t want you any other way.
Stay faithful,
-Claudia
