God’s Salvation

I recently got a message from someone who really needs to be reminded of salvation through Christ. I’m not going to name the person for privacy’s sake, but I want them to know that I heard their message, and I wrote this for you.
There is a reason that we swear on the Bible when we’re in court (okay, I don’t watch a lot of law movies, but it’s typical...I think…. Okay, I just searched it up. We do still swear with our left hand on a Holy Bible when testifying in court. *check mark*). People know the importance of God’s word. Even in a secular world, we’re compelled to tradition. Traditions which were once right.
The Bible has power.
Now…that’s not entirely true. The Bible has power because God is power and He speaks through it.
So, knowing that there’s importance in the text of a Holy Bible (no matter the translation), we have to take what is says like it’s the law out of a police officer’s mouth. There’s no denying what the Gospel says.
(I know this feels a little off-track. But stick with me.)
Therefore, we know that the Gospel is truth, and we know that we can trust whatever it says. So what do we know about God saving us from what the Bible says? We know that whatever we’re going to hear is real and true as long as it’s Scripture.
Romans 6:23
‘For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.’
God’s salvation is the only reason we have hope and continue on this terrible earth. You see, we have free accessibility to God’s word, His love, and His salvation.
All we need is a clear understanding in what exactly we need to do to gain God’s eye. Does that make any sense?
John 14:6
‘Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”’
One more time:
Romans 1:16
‘For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.’
Sometimes, we look to your favourite verses for all our information. Like, John 3:16 (For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believed in him will not perish but have eternal life.). However, we fail to look at the bigger picture.
John 3:17
‘For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.’
Jesus did not come to the world to point fingers at it. He came to let you know you’re doing wrong, yes. But He also came with open arms, allowing you the option that you may believe in Him, and go home with Him one day.
This goes to explain, there’s nothing we could ever do to gain salvation. Even the Devil believes in God, and he doesn’t go to heaven.
No, it’s because God was willing to allow His broken children a second chance. God wants you, He wants to save you.
But He won’t take action untill you look Him in the eyes and offer Him the chance to get into your heart and be with you there.
God can save you, and He will.
Amen.
